New Videos Out for Dive At Dawn’s “Shrink” and Tokyo Lucky Hole’s “The Boys (And a Bottle)”

Orange pop-punk band Dive At Dawn releases a new single titled “Shrink” on Thursday.

Here is band member Andrew Rice’s description of the song: “The track kicks off with a cool filtered guitar riff, and then it breaks out into a massive post-punk / emocore type rhythm, with vocals that make me think of artists like Taking Back Sunday, Papa Roach, Funeral For A Friend, or The Used, among others. The song’s bridge is heavier and darker, with big down-tuned guitar riffs and heavy half-tempo drums that add more weight to the track.”

Guess we’ll have to wait until Thursday to see if we agree … or we can watch this video now:

Over in Huntington Beach, glammy indie rockers Tokyo Lucky Hole–who we previously featured here–just announced a new video for the single “The Boys (And a Bottle)” from their recently released sophomore album Satanic Mystery Feast.

“The Boys (And a Bottle)” was shot on a VHS camcorder by writer/director Blaine Fuller (brother to Tokyo Lucky Hole front man Clay Fuller), who concocted a superhero spoof set to power pop hooks with retro rock and doo wop elements. Blaine says he dreamt up the concept “in response to superhero cinema mundanity, 90’s nostalgia overkill, and the love of strippers.”

Tokyo Lucky Hole–which besides 25-year-old guitarist and lead vocalist Clay Fuller includes bassist and keyboardist brothers Russell and Connor Frankston from Yorba Linda and 24-year-old drummer Ben Bridgford of Anaheim Hills–performs at Nothing Fest Halloween with Tijuana Panthers, Enjoy, Beach Bums, Death Lens and Huey Briss at Garden Amp, 12762 Main St., Garden Grove, (949) 415-8544; gardenamp.com.
